On October 26, three French mountaineers, including the Nice native Thomas Arfi, were reported missing in Nepal, while they were on an expedition to climb the Mingbo Eiger.
The operations to find the three mountaineers began on October 30 and continued this morning, Wednesday, November 3, without success. The rescuers then announced that the search would be suspended for three to four days.
“I conducted an aerial search again this morning, but I found nothing. Since we haven’t been able to make any progress in locating the missing mountaineers, we have decided to stop the search operations for three to four days,” Ang Norbu Sherpa, president of the Nepal National Mountain Guides Association and a member of the search and rescue operation, told AFP.
