On Tuesday, January 30th, Christian Estrosi invited the seniors of the city to the Palais Nikaïa, to extend his New Year wishes during a special 80s concert. However, some seniors were disappointed with the event.
“I can’t hear anything!”
Christiane, who has been retired for a few years, is not at all satisfied. Twenty minutes before the end, accompanied by her three friends, they decided to leave. “I think they don’t understand that we are retirees and our hearing isn’t as good as it used to be. The sound wasn’t loud enough, and it was very difficult to follow the lyrics.” One of her friends, Giselle, also pointed out an issue with the giant screen: “I think for those who were right in front of the stage, it must have been fine, but for us at the back, it was a nightmare!“ This group of friends indeed intended to make their voices heard. As soon as the first song ended, a whole section of the audience at the back of the hall demanded in unison an effort to improve the sound quality. A request that ultimately was not addressed.
“We can’t complain about a free concert”
Patrick, a former restaurateur, also went outside for some air between songs. “I told my wife that I was going out, as it’s unbearable for me to stay with such loud sound. But it’s a pleasant moment, and it’s purely to give us pleasure. Mr. Estrosi doesn’t need to speak to us more seriously, since the next elections are two years away. But frankly, for a free event, even if we ultimately contribute, we can’t complain.”
