Even though Younousov tried to enforce his rhythm, Sola did not falter, responding with remarkable technical skills. Neck and neck until the end, the Nice-born fighter ultimately managed to counter and land blows that marked the end of the fight: the referee decided to stop the match. Axel Sola won by TKO in the fourth round.
A Sense of Incompletion for Virgil Augen
The match between the Boxing Squad member and Henrique Shiguemoto was supposed to be the main fight of Ares 18, at least initially. The two fighters were also supposed to battle for the middleweight championship of the organization, but things did not go as planned. Indeed, the Brazilian did not make weight, but Augen agreed to fight without a belt on the line…
To say the least, Virgil Augen was not there to make any concessions. Shiguemoto tried, but the native of Toulouse was simply dominant. He controlled his opponent during the early rounds, particularly in the grappling phases, but Augen finished the fight less strongly and conceded a few hits to Shiguemoto.
