On the occasion of his exhibition at the l’Entrepôt gallery from April 5th to 29th, Fnac Monaco welcomes the Franco-Belgian artist for a discussion about Street Pop.
A blend of culture and technique, discover Street Pop! It’s a way of approaching irony, overflowing with imagination, and embracing painting by mixing it like a DJ.
Both a painter and a sculptor, SPaRK brings to life phantasmagoric characters inspired by comics, caricature, advertising, and ancient human symbols. He emerges as a true driving force of Brussels’ “street pop” movement, which claims the synthesis of American pop and the culture of European urban art. He has done graffiti in Paris, then in Brussels; his canvases are tagged with spray paint and pastels like street artists do. The artist holds great admiration for Jean-Michel Basquiat.
