For ten years, the Departmental Museum of Asian Arts has been opening up to contemporary art.
Today, it welcomes an artist, Monique Orsini, who draws a certain form of inspiration from her Asian origins. From Asia, she derives philosophical concerns, an attention to space, notions of emptiness and fullness, and the concentration that allows for the precise gesture.
The West brings her the influences of abstraction and the compelling desire to make light and color interact. A vital impulse and a sense of fulfillment emanate from Monique Orsini’s paintings and propel us towards the unknown.
