For its 28th edition, the Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo will present its musical program in various locations throughout the Principality and its region. The Salle des Princes at the Grimaldi Forum will host four major European orchestras for a brilliant Anton Bruckner cycle: Meeting Anton Bruckner (1824-1896).
His theological music, orchestrated with differentiated blocks from a basic cell, was poorly received by an unyielding critique and a Viennese audience deeply dedicated to Brahms’ music.
Defended by Gustav Mahler and other major conductors, Bruckner, once an misunderstood musician, is today a pillar of the symphonic repertoire in concert programs.
