More Europe for the Radical Party

Latest News

Bizarre, really bizarre.

A resolutely pro-European President of the Republic was just elected against a candidate who made Europe the number one enemy and the cause of all problems, yet on the occasion of Europe Day, local institutions and political parties did not lift a finger to acknowledge that yesterday was the day to celebrate it.

Yes, all but one.

In this deafening silence, only the Radical Party wanted to speak out.

What can I say… “a round of applause” for them.

On this Europe Day, the election of a pro-European French President of the Republic unequivocally reiterates the French people’s commitment to European integration, resonating across the rest of Europe and the world.

Today, 27 member states wish to continue the shared journey. For the Radicals, it is essential to work towards reforms aiming for real European federalism, including:

  • More fiscal and social convergence, exemplified by the establishment of a European unemployment compensation policy and a common apprenticeship contract across the Union, which would help reconnect citizens with the European Union.
  • The appointment of a genuine President of the eurozone without a national mandate, who would be an actual European Finance Minister, contributing to greater economic efficiency.
  • The development of a European immigration policy, aiming to establish a common approach to accommodating foreigners and asylum seekers, notably through the creation of a European immigration office and a European air and border police.

Europe is not the victory of one people over another; it is a continuous construction for the common good, and the Radicals will continue to fully participate in it.
