More than 60 artists and over 500 works on display and for sale.

After the success of the first edition in 2017 with the sale of more than 120 works and editions from nearly 40 contemporary artists, the association MATÉRIAUXMIXTES is once again presenting its Nopoto exhibition-sale on December 7, 8, and 9 at Atelier Fréga in the vibrant Port of Nice district.

NOPOTO is a temporary exhibition-sale inviting over 60 artists to sell their “ready-to-hang works.” The primary idea is to reach a broader audience: art enthusiasts and collectors but also those who might become collectors but do not typically visit galleries. This is achieved by offering small and medium-sized works (drawings, photos, objects, multiples, editions, etc.) at “affordable” prices ranging from 5 to 300 €.

However, this project, initiated in 2007 in Paris by a collective of artists, goes beyond merely being an exhibition-sale by developing a collaborative and participatory model, generating a virtuous micro-economy in favor of the artists. The principle is that the artist receives 90% of the sale price, and the remaining 10% contributes to a solidarity fund to develop other projects: grants for exhibitions, editions, and so on.

The association MATÉRIAUXMIXTES fully organizes the event: curation, selection of artworks, artist support, installation, communication, and more.

Each year, the association invites an artist to design the visual identity for the event. For this edition, it is the artist Frédéric Nakache who will also present the first edition produced by the association thanks to its solidarity fund.
