MotoGP: Bastianini wins the Grand Prix of the Americas, frustration for Quartararo and Zarco

Latest News

The two French pilots finished at a good distance from the Italian Enea Bastianini. Fabio Quartararo finished seventh, two places ahead of Johann Zarco.

The fourth race of the season, and finally a double winner. After dominating the first race of the season, Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing) gave Ducati its first victory on the Austin circuit for the Grand Prix of the Americas this Sunday.

The Italian forced Jack Miller (Ducati, who ended up third), who had been leading since the start, to crack five laps before the end and then surged ahead. In doing so, he reclaimed the lead in the world championship. Behind him, the French pilots struggled.

Still penalized by a machine lacking top speed, Fabio Quartararo (Monster Yamaha) couldn’t do better than seventh place, despite his determination. Johann Zarco struggled a bit more, finishing ninth even though he started from fourth place. Alex Rins (Suzuki), who delivered an exceptional Grand Prix, completed the podium in second place.

The upcoming Grand Prix races should bring a bit of comfort to Fabio Quartararo with the first European races of the season and tracks where power should be less decisive.
