Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) had everything go his way at the Portuguese Grand Prix. Thanks to an excellent start and great control throughout the race, the Frenchman triumphed at Portimao ahead of his compatriot Johann Zarco (Ducati Pramac) and Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia). El Diablo also benefited from the retirement of the world championship leader, Enea Bastianini (Ducati Gresini), to take the lead in the driver standings, tied with Alex Rins (Suzuki).

A race that turned into a demonstration. Starting fifth on the grid, Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) took off right from the start to climb up to second position, behind Joan Mir. At the front, the last two world champions engaged in a beautiful on-track battle, but the faster Frenchman quickly caught up with the Spaniard’s slipstream before overtaking him on the 4th lap. El Diablo then dominated the race by setting consecutive fastest laps to widen the gap and crossed the finish line in first place with nearly six seconds over his closest followers.
