For the start of the San Marino Grand Prix, there will be the same front row as last week at Aragon, with Pecco Bagnaia in pole position followed by Jack Miller and Fabio Quartararo.
The Italian secured the pole by setting the track record at 1:31.065. Second in the championship, he is 53 points behind the Frenchman Quartararo. In an attempt to beat his rival in the last seconds of qualifying, he crashed, but without any serious consequences.
The Pramac-Ducatis of Jorge Martin and Johann Zarco, as well as Pol Espargaro’s Honda, will start on the second row of this 14th Grand Prix out of 18 this season, at 2:00 PM. The Spaniard Marc Marquez (Honda) achieved the 7th fastest time and will start from the third row. His compatriot Joan Mir (Suzuki), the defending champion and currently 3rd in the championship ahead of Zarco, will start in 11th position.
In front of his home crowd, Valentino Rossi (Yamaha-SRT) will only be 23rd on the starting grid. The seven-time world champion, currently 21st in the world standings, is experiencing his last five GPs before retiring at the age of 42.
