Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), two weeks after his victory in Doha (Qatar), won his second consecutive Grand Prix of the season solo in Portugal, at Portimão, this Sunday.
The French rider achieved a victory full of mastery, his second victory this season, the fifth of his career in MotoGP, which allows him to take the lead in the MotoGP World Championship after three races.
The Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) and the Spaniard Joan Mir (Suzuki) joined him on the podium. The other Frenchman Johann Zarco (Ducati-Pramac), the previous leader of the riders’ standings, crashed. Returning after nine months of absence due to injury, the Spaniard Marc Marquez (Honda) finished seventh.
