For its 23rd edition, the Mouans-Sartoux Book Fair takes place from October 1st to 3rd, 2010. As the state of the planet remains a concern, along with violations of freedoms and injustices against women, Marie-Louise Gourdon, the Book Festival’s Commissioner, has chosen to dedicate this edition to “states of emergency.”
During three days, visitors will have the opportunity to attend exhibitions, over 50 debates, and conferences animated by philosophers, sociologists, historians, scientists, and writers. Notable guests such as Florence Aubenas, Jean-Franรงois Kahn, and Guy Bedos will be present. Among the authors present at the Festival are Giovani Cattabriga, Grazia Verasani, and Bernardo Carvalho, who is also the president of the Festival. This gathering is also cinematographic, and numerous films, such as “Oceans” by Jacques Perrin, will be screened.
This festival also caters to children. It features the largest space dedicated to children’s literature in the Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur region. As every year, the Book Festival organizes the Pitchouns Prize, rewarding a book designed, written, and illustrated by children. This year, the award ceremony takes place on October 1st at 11 am at the “Beau livre” space.
