It is at the Vaste Horizon, where Picasso stayed from 1933 to 1937, that Dr. Richard Galy, the mayor of Mougins, presented the summer season and the activities that will be offered for everyone’s greatest enjoyment. Children, young people, adults, and the elderly will find in this varied program something to satisfy their artistic tastes.
Each Thursday in August, Mougins Nocturnes will see gallery owners keep their shops open late into the night, with rhythms where folklore, international varieties, and jazz will make their chords resonate under the starry vault of the night, as itinerant music fills the streets and squares.
The Eco park, for its part, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, will evoke with its Eco cafรฉ the lively nights of music restaurants, providing a meal accompanied by jazz, rhythm, rock, and Gypsy music. There will be open-air cinema, the dance festival which will conclude with the night of stars, those of opera.
Music enthusiasts will be delighted by the Strings of Saint Petersburg and Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. This summer, Mougins can say: “Weโre not going to bed yet.” Late into the night, visitors will discover the village, its galleries, its Cultural Space where photos of Marilyn Monroe taken six weeks before her tragic end are displayed, and of course, the Andrรฉ Villers Photography Museum currently exhibiting Jean Loup Sieff’s ‘Eros Thanatos.’
Mougins also means gastronomy, the art of living well, a chic space with a luxury not spoiled by a celebrity atmosphere. This summer, after the scorching days when even the cicadas doze off, you will enjoy the nights of Mougins and its almost daily events.
Youโve understood it, Mougins will be an inevitable stop in your summer evenings.
