The City of Nice was invited to participate in an informative day organized by Atout France, entitled “Castles, Abbeys, Military Sites: How to Successfully Promote the Tourist Appeal of this Heritage in the Region?”

Jean-Marc Giaume, Municipal Advisor delegated to Historical Heritage, Niรงois Language and Culture, was able to present the heritage project of the City of Nice, notably with the opening of the Fort du Mont Alban, which has provided the public with official access to this incomparable site.

Other heritage actions and projects were also highlighted, such as the Bellanda Tower and the upcoming opening of the Lu Bastioun Archaeological Crypt, beneath Garibaldi Square.

This day was mainly aimed at tourism institutional bodies and public decision-makers who wish to enhance a heritage site for tourism purposes.

It was an opportunity to review the transfer of monuments from the State to local authorities, as a bill voted by the Senate is indeed planned to frame this procedure with the possibility of takeover by private operators.

Atout France is a state operator in tourism, responsible for ensuring the development of the tourism industry, the leading French economic sector.
