“I am confident and determined. We are not here to just make an appearance, but to win.” With this statement, Benoît Kandel, the head of the list for “Nice for Everyone,” puts a stop to the polls that place his list at 6% of voting intentions in the first round on March 15.
He reacts with irony: “In 2014, with another list I participated in, they gave us 1.5% and we ended up with more than 10%, so…”
His “credo” remains the same: “We are the true right, and there is space between the Macronist right list of Christian Estrosi and the far-right list of Philippe Vardon, a role that should have been Eric Ciotti’s if he had not stepped aside.”
Regarding Ciotti’s involvement, Benoît Kandel is more than measured: “He is not participating in this electoral campaign in either direction. But many of his supporters have joined us.”
As for the rest, the former deputy mayor of Christian Estrosi wanted to reiterate his opposition to the policy of his former “boss”: “We are opposed to the gigantism of the upcoming projects. We need a return to proximity within a framework of real security, not just displayed as it is currently.”
One last note: The candidates have all signed the ethical charter of Anticor and all have a clean criminal record.
Like all lists present in this election, the “Nice for Everyone” list is also a mix of political activists (again, from diverse backgrounds) and people from civil society.
In this case, while the head of the list claims to be from the CNIP, 2 candidates are members of LR, 5 are from Stand Up France (an alliance comes at a cost), 3 from the Christian Democratic Party, and 1 from the Animalist Party.
3 candidates have political experience: Benoît Kandel (1st deputy mayor UMP of Nice from 2008 to 2013, UMP departmental councilor of the 12th district of Nice from 2009 to 2015, municipal councilor of Nice since 2008), Celia Georges (Municipal and metropolitan opposition councilor of Nice), and Josiane Pastorel (former municipal councilor of the city of Nice and Regional Councilor of Paca).
Here are the first 15 names: 1 Benoît Kandel, 2 Emmanuelle Bardon, 3 Jean-Marc Chipot, 4 Célia Georges, 5 Eric Gilli, 6 Cindy Navarro, 7 Jean-Marie Benguettat, 8 Joëlle Donsimoni, 9 Thomas Cavilfiori, 10 Céline Vigna, 11 Jean-Paul Serra, 12 Louise Dujon, 13 Ludovic Gasparro, 14 Béatrice De Gubernatis, 15 Jérôme Durif
