Municipal: Carros turns the page on the elections and confirms the incumbent mayor Yannick Bernard.

Latest News

Nearly 2 years after first defeating former mayor of Carros Charles Scibetta (Independent), Yannick Bernard (DVD) confirmed his victory on Sunday evening with a significantly more comfortable score of 54.25% of the votes cast.

In June 2020, his narrow victory, with 50.34% of the votes, or just a 31-vote lead, led his opponent to challenge this result, citing irregularities during the campaign. The Council of State agreed by annulling the election.

This second round of the municipal election strongly mobilized the voters. More than 63% of them went to the polls.

With a margin of 473 votes out of 5,581 votes cast, the winner believes that “there will be no possible contestation.”
