An update to the pricing system based on the analysis of the results? – as claimed by Gaël Nofri, who is in charge of parking, or a pre-election resolution as suggested by the opposition?
Yesterday at the Municipal Council, merchants and other sectors (restaurants, hotels) were well catered to with an adjustment to the parking rate grid for Saturdays.
Christian Estrosi defended against any criticism by highlighting the full agreement of these sectors, whose representatives were present at the session… for the photo!
Creation of a specific pay-as-you-go parking rate on the road valid only on Saturdays: a new specific pricing for Saturday, offering 1 hour of free parking, 2 hours charged at 1 euro, and on-street parking extended to a duration of 3 hours and 15 minutes consecutively. This measure, adopted today, aims to support the city’s local businesses and thus strengthen commercial attractiveness.
A measure to which Patrick Allemand expressed his opposition: ” Saturday is the day for weekly shopping at supermarkets and consequently the day when customers shop in shopping malls, whereas local businesses need daily support. I therefore propose a very simple amendment. It involves removing from points 1, 2, and 3 of the resolution, the mention ‘every Saturday’. In this way, we would better address their needs.”
The merchants were also well looked after with new regulations for delivery hours, a new patio charter, and a 5% property tax reduction for small businesses (less than 400 m2 in area).
“We must support small businesses to promote the life and attractiveness of the city center and our neighborhoods,” justified these decisions Christian Estrosi.
