Jean Icart, active in politics since 1994, municipal and metropolitan councilor, and general councilor, a former member of the majority from which he was expelled for “crime of lese-majesty,” positions himself as an alternative to the outgoing Mayor Christian Estrosi in the race for the position of first citizen of “his” city;
“I am Niรงois with strength and passion and I don’t need to write books to prove it. My grandfather and my father were also Niรงois. I know this challenge is not easy, but I am an entrepreneur at heart, and those who undertake can succeed.”
Why this independent candidacy?
“I have a label, that of my association, which is precisely called: My label is Nice,” he responded.
But Nice “cannot depend on a single man, furthermore, I am obliged to observe that we are caught in a mad spiral of projects,” continued the new candidate.
Without belonging to any particular political movement, Jean Icart remains a man of convictions. It remains to be seen if this candidacy will live up to those convictions…
