It’s a beautiful sunny Sunday, with a gentle spring breeze. Many of you have gone out for a stroll, but how many of you have made it to the polling stations?
At midday, the turnout in Nice was 27.39% for the municipal elections, and 25.47% for the cantonal elections. This is slightly higher than last week at the same time: 25.66% for the municipal elections, and 24.29% for the cantonal elections.
It is also a bit higher than the national participation rate: 23.68% of French people have gone to their polling stations to choose their mayor. This is a little more than last Sunday at the same time (23%), and more than in the second round of 2001 at the same time (20.20%).
By 6 p.m., the voter turnout was 54.14% for the municipal election and 50.79% for the cantonal elections.
