It will be finally, on Friday evening at 6 PM, at the Leyrit hall in the Saint Roch neighborhood, that Christian Estrosi will unveil the 69 women and men who will don the costume of running mates for the final weeks of a campaign that promises to be exciting.
Rumors and gossip abound, and apart from a few rare certainties, such as the presence of the indispensable Dominique Estrosi-Sassone, the loyal ally Rudy Salles, or Philippe Pradal, confirmed as the first deputy by the outgoing mayor at one of his last conventions, nothing certain seems to have leaked from the candidate’s headquarters.
Many current deputies or municipal councillors still do not know, at the time of writing, whether they will be on the list, and if they are, in what position they will be placed.
All suppositions are fair game, and predictions are rife from the city hall corridors to market stalls and cafรฉ counters in Nice. After Gilles Veissiรจre, Denise Fabre, and company, which civil society personalities will this time join the ranks of more political running mates coming from the benches of the UMP or the UDI?
It is already known that Jean-Luc Gag should be part of the lineup after his official presentation around two weeks ago in Old Nice, in the heart of the theatre that bears his grandfather’s name.
But, for the others, the suspense remains.
