Marc Concas, the only socialist general councilor from Nice, has just organized a press conference to announce his resignation from the PS and his intention to bring together all those on the left who do not accept following Patrick Allemand into yet another defeat. He was accompanied by several activists from the PS, EELV, and PRG who support his initiative…
It should be remembered that during the 2008 municipal elections, Patrick Allemand’s candidacy had already caused the Nice PS to implode (several hundreds of exclusions or resignations). Clearly, he has just repeated this feat today!
This time, it’s even worse since his candidacy is causing serious unrest even within the other parties of the presidential majority.
Patrick Allemand, however, had refused to organize an open primary on the grounds that he was the “natural and undisputed” candidate of the left… His imagination seems intact since, in response to Marc Concas’s departure (in addition to the Left Front’s decision to go alone), Patrick Allemand dared to conclude: “the gathering of the left is confirmed”!
Beyond the Coué method, the reality is that, due to him, the gathering of the left has failed.
