Municipal reshuffle among Nice’s elected officials: here is everything that changes

Latest News

The city of Nice announced on Tuesday, October 24, that it has made changes to the delegations among its elected officials.

The municipality has undergone a reshuffling with notable changes in delegations. With more or fewer delegations and exchanges among elected officials, here is a summary of what is changing in Christian Estrosi’s municipal team.

Dr. Richard Chemla, already busy with his four delegations, has been given a fifth one. Indeed, the deputy mayor, who is responsible for Ecological and Energy Transition, Health, and Well-being, had inherited the delegation for Animal Protection following the dismissal of Henry-Jean Servat last June. This time, in view of the Ocean Summit at Nice, he becomes responsible for the organization of the Ocean Summit 2025.

A new deputy responsible for Sports has been appointed, and it is Pascal Condomitti, who takes over the role previously held by the 7th deputy Graig Monetti. He expressed his “deep gratitude and satisfaction” to Christian Estrosi for this appointment on his X account. However, the deputy for Youth and Equal Opportunities also takes on the delegation for Event Management.

Lawyer Marc Concas, already in charge of Ethics, Opera, Music, the Victorine project, and Cinemaโ€”which he inherited from Henry Jean-Servatโ€”has now been entrusted with Finances. This makes him one of the most heavily tasked officials, along with Richard Chemla and Jean-Luc Gagliolo, who is responsible for Education, Culture in schools, Literacy, Niรงoise Identity, and Leisure for all, whose responsibilities remain unchanged.

Magali Altounian, known as Madam Europe, was responsible for Finances until now. She remains in charge of the city’s Visibility, with her European delegation undergoing only a semantic change to become the Delegation for European Affairs.

Reinforcement in the neighborhoods of Nice

“To strengthen proximity in the implementation of municipal policies, the Mayor of Nice has also aimed to reinforce the role of territorial elected officials,” shared the city of Nice in a statement. From now on, each territory deputy will partner with another sub-delegated deputy.

This is why, the territory of the Niรงoise Hills is now in the hands of the president of the Lignes d’Azur agency, Gaรซl Nofri, and his sub-delegate Magali Altounian. They replace Pascal Condomitti.

Regarding the banks of the Paillon, Fatima Khaldi-Bououghroum remains in charge and is joined by Hervรฉ Caรซl, who is tasked with Digital Affairs and Simplifying User Procedures and becomes sub-delegated.

Philippe Soussi, deputy responsible for the Historic Nice quarter, which includes the Old Nice to Riquier area, is now accompanied by Jean-Marc Giaume, already deputy in charge of Scientific Culture, the Natural History Museum, and Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Nice and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Aurรฉa Cophignon becomes sub-delegate for the Heart of Nice alongside Isabelle Ventin and also for participatory democracy.

The delegate for Professional Integration, Karim Ben Ahmed, becomes sub-delegate for the Nice-West Territory to support Monique Bailet.

Catherine Moreau, deputy responsible for Urban Agriculture, community gardens, and Neighborhood Animation, becomes sub-delegate for the Hauts de Nice Territory with Franck Martin, who has now been assigned an additional delegation for relationships with the liberal professions.
