While the security level is at its highest in the capital of the Côte d’Azur, tensions are rising between the representatives of the FN from the region and the mayor of Nice.
“Contrary to the allegations made this morning by Christian Estrosi on BFM TV, Marie-Christine Arnautu and Marc-André Domergue did not vote against the measures presented at the municipal council on January 19, but abstained ‘on principle,’ due to his constant double talk, depending on whether he is in his role as mayor in Nice or as a UMP deputy in Paris,” according to a statement by the city council’s representative from the FN.
This is asserted by the FN councilor in a statement titled “So, is Christian Estrosi a Pinocchio?”
The follow-up comments from the FN 06 leader are no less harsh: “The transition to ‘Vigipirate Attack’ plan in the Alpes-Maritimes and particularly in Nice rightfully raises concerns, as we have warned, for our compatriots’ safety as the Carnival approaches.
It proves, according to her, if proof were needed, that all the minor measures by the ‘Communicating Mayor’ will unfortunately have very little impact.”
