On the occasion of the music festival, a special concert will take place in an unusual venue: Jazz and Matisse come together to create musical images inspired by the color and sound of a living Matisse.
This musical project was born from the desire of Marie-Thérèse Pulvénis and her teams, and six years of concerts based on exchanges about the relationships between Matisse, Nice, and music.
Musical images inspired by the color and sound of a living Matisse. A marriage between the eye and the ear, in the unique venue of the Matisse Museum patio in Cimiez. Compositions specifically written for this project, performed by six musicians and a poet. The desire to come together around a contemporary Jazz that is vibrant, free, festive, and creative.
The So What Company* has been practicing jubilant Jazz music for fifteen years now, focusing on listening and respect among musicians, designed for the audience and the stage. A shared desire to come together around the same language, that of today’s music, festive and creative.
