The meeting with Nice Radio listeners was anticipated, but only a few privileged individuals had the chance to hear and see it live.
From Nice, Beaulieu, Cagnes-sur-Mer, or Mandelieu, fans of Pascal Mono wouldn’t miss the chance to support him and show this accomplished artist that his music is loved.
One hour before the radio interview, a group of “monoiennes” gathered around a soda to lovingly discuss their favorite: Flora, our budding journalist, was struck by his voice and guitar chords, which she tries to replicate by ear as best as she can. “His music is exceptional. Sometimes, I can’t even play some of his pieces. It’s his thing, his trademark.” Flora didn’t stop there. A musician and also skilled in IT, she offered her expertise to Pascal by designing a website with a forum for him: “It just opened. Currently, there are only 50 registered members, but it will increase. I notice he has many fans in Belgium.” According to her mother, Flora spends too much time on this, but “After a while, you get caught up in the game, and Pascal feels like part of the family now.”
Stéphanie is also infected by the “Mono” virus: “The more I listen to the lyrics of his songs, the more they touch me. I’ll share a secret: I dream about him at night, but all in good taste. As long as it stays on a spiritual level!” Cynthia, a new recruit to the “monoien” clan, widens her eyes, gets a bit lost in the conversation but, like Marie-Claude and Marie Christine, is there to support an artist whose talent they believe in.
4:45 PM: “Let’s wait for Pascal to get ready. Let’s not rush him. We need to give him time to settle.” Thoughtful and sensible, girls!
4:50 PM: It’s time to go to the station. The tension is high. Nerves or stress? “No, it’s just a lot of emotion building up… It’s wonderful.” After climbing the stairs, walking down a long corridor, the privilege finally appears: jeans, leather jacket, and, of course, the indispensable dark glasses, Pascal Mono is there. Discreet and simple, the rocker kisses all his fans except one. Except one? Why? Little Chiara, aged 5, hides behind her mother. Still trembling, she finds it hard to believe that this character she saw on the small screen could come into the real world. Where will the magic of television end?
5:00 PM: Pascal takes the stage at the microphone of Elliot: While the questions were posed by the listeners, the musical programming was signed Mono: Raphaël, Coldplay, Passy, and Calogero blended with songs from his album “Intact,” sung along by the fans. “She gets overexcited then she self-decomposes, She forces herself to drink water, she actually tsunamizes herself, She psychoanalyzes herself, she de-alphabetizes herself, she’s still astonished by the disasters she provokes. My era! What a “superstar”!”
The exclusive show closed after an hour on air with two good news:
– On August 22, he will be in concert in Cannes with other members of Star Academy 5.
– On August 21, he will be in concert at the port of Monaco ALL ALONE!!
The day ended with a friendly drink specially prepared by Flora’s mom (Delicious) in the studios of Nice Radio. Photos, autographs… Before he left, Pascal gave a gift to his supporters: “Mercedes Benz” by Janis Joplin sung a cappella. A final salute, and the Artist leaves the stage to continue his career, a career that will be closely followed by Flora, Stéphanie, Marie-Christine, and Marie-Claude, four young women who believe in him and encourage him.
Nice-Première thanks Nice-Radio for the reception and wishes good luck to Pascal Mono.
See you on August 21 at the port of Monaco!
