The city of Nice and the Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur Region are honoring high school students who obtained the “Trรจs bien” distinction on the national baccalaureate exam. Villa Massรฉna welcomed the graduates and their families.
The Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, along with local officials and the Nice District Education Officer, Natacha Chicot, invited the graduates who received the “Trรจs bien” distinction in the baccalaureate exam to gather. The success rate for the baccalaureate in the Nice academy this year is 84.9%, with barely 1% achieving the “Trรจs bien” distinction. Villa Massรฉna therefore hosted the families in its garden to present the diplomas in person.
Thanking the Future of the Country
Everything was arranged for the families to have a good time. Drinks and a photo opportunity were available. The graduates and their parents eagerly participated to capture this unique moment. Natacha Chicot then spoke to congratulate the newly graduated students, “you are the face of success.”
Subsequently, Christian Estrosi delivered a speech that had a slightly more political edge given the current climate. Nevertheless, he didn’t fail to highlight the lots of opportunities the region offers for these future students. Recognizing young individuals who received the “Trรจs bien” distinction in the baccalaureate is important to him: “I believe that when someone succeeds better than others starting from the same educational foundation […] it’s nice to be rewarded.” That’s why the city of Nice offers a gratification of 200โฌ for these students. This initiative is complemented by a 400-euro bonus from the Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur Region, presided over by Renaud Muselier. Perrine, a graduate, feels thrilled to be congratulated by the Mayor of Nice: “they say the bac is given to everyone, but he pointed out that we are part of the elite, so itโs always gratifying.”
