National campaign in support of the Bleuet de France

Latest News

From May 2 to May 8, on the occasion of the commemoration of the Allied victory in May 1945, a new fundraising campaign for the National Work of the Bleuet de France will take place.

Thousands of volunteer collectors will appeal to the generosity of passersby and will thus participate in funding social actions and remembrance operations.

The Bleuet de France, a flower of remembrance and solidarity, was born in 1918 from the desire of two nurses to assist wounded soldiers during the Great War. By creating a workshop dedicated to making cornflower fabric flowers, the nurses allowed the disabled to forget their injuries and earn an income through the sale of these flowers.

Symbolically, the cornflower embodied the ability to be reborn, resonating with the blue of the French flag or that of the first uniform worn by young soldiers of the French army.

A hundred years later, this commitment endures, and the Bleuet continues its mission of moral and financial support for veterans and war victims of yesterday and today. It also provides its assistance to war widows, orphans of the Nation, and victims of acts of terrorism: a leading charitable action that truly deserves to be encouraged…
