“Network Diploma Employment,” the triptych of the new educational opportunity project for young people

“Not being qualified today means staying on the sidelines,” Christian Estrosi asserted with conviction during the presentation of a new project aimed at young people dropping out of school.

This initiative, titled “Network, Diploma, Employment: 1 Diploma and 1 Job, It’s Possible,” is an active and positive response that goes beyond the much-criticized welfare support or indifference, even the blame placed on young people who, for one reason or another, cannot manage on their own and risk going astray.

These are what we call active policies that combine questioning, guidance, commitment, support, and the responsibility of everyone around a virtuous circle, with the objective of young individual success.

In essence, this personalized support can last up to 8 years and is aimed at securing the paths of young people from the end of middle school up to a Bachelor’s degree, through mentorship and training.

This partnership brings together selected young people (from 30 to 60 in this starting year, 5,000 by 2025), associations working in the field and acting under the vigilant eye of the school authority, companies that will ensure a professionalization or apprenticeship contract, and mentorship to accompany and train in the chosen profession.

Currently, at the project launch stage, 26 institutions (School Authority, UCA, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chamber of Trades and Crafts, UOE06, IUMM06, Junior Chamber International, Local Mission NCA, Campus Sud des Métiers, CFA NCA), companies (Vinci Highways, Peugeot, E. Leclerc, Carrefour, McDonald’s, Metro, Groupe Premium, Artificial Intelligence Cluster), and associations (CAP Employment, Nice Ariane Development, SOS Academic Success, OGC Nice, AFEV) have declared their participation.

Others will follow after the launch of a call for projects at the next Municipal Council (May 27).

“Life is not always a smooth river,” said Rector Richard Laganier. “This initiative is heading in the direction of equal opportunities.”
