New anti-noise radars to be tested soon in Nice

Latest News

Among eight municipalities in France, the city of Nice has volunteered to test a new anti-noise radar called Méduse in the future. This device aims to catch vehicles considered too noisy and reduce the noise of two-wheelers.

Developed by Bruitparif (the technical evaluation center for sound environment), the devices will be installed starting in November right in the city center. This is meant as a warning to our two-wheeled friends. This tool features a 360-degree camera and an acoustic antenna sensor equipped with four microphones.
So what are the reasons for this entire transformation in the city? After having experimented with the project in 2019 in a small street, (where the residents complained about the noise) the city of Nice decided to take it to the next level by considering the entire city center.

Fines will not be issued before 2022. For a year, fictional tickets will be directly sent to offenders, while waiting to issue real fines, starting 2023.
