Christian Estrosi announced this summer the creation of a new nursing home (EHPAD) in the heart of the Saint-Roch district. A project approved by the Board of Directors of the Communal Social Action Center this week.
Since 2006, the Communal Social Action Center of Nice has been implementing a policy of modernization for its establishments for the elderly. Located in the city center, at 6 St Roch Lane, near the Charles Caressa garden, the establishment will include 119 beds. The beds will be distributed as follows:
- 117 permanent accommodation beds, among which 40 beds currently located in the Autonomy Rehabilitation Aging Unit of the University Hospital Center of Nice and 14 beds in a Reinforced Accommodation Unit for people with moderate to severe cognitive disorders.
- 2 temporary accommodation beds, intended to provide respite for caregivers who will thus have a suitable accommodation solution for a short duration.
- A Night Activity and Care Center (PASA).
A Desire to Care for Our Elders
This project will cost 22 million euros and will begin at the end of 2025 with a delivery scheduled for the end of 2027. As Mr. Christian Estrosi reminds us, “Nice has just obtained the gold label as an elder-friendly city.” This recognition demonstrates a commitment to adapting the city to aging. A desire to be “as close as possible to the needs expressed by our elders,โ expressed the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi.
This new structure in the heart of Nice will prioritize green spaces and leisure activities (petanque, walkingโฆ). It will allow residents and their families to feel at home, with all necessary support and expertise for their well-being.
