We are aware of the situation in these two neighborhoods, which often make the news for incidents that harm the well-being of residents and have given them a negative label.
Starting from mid-July, these two neighborhoods will benefit from the deployment of prevention battalions: specialized educators and social mediators for the security and well-being of these areas.
They are among the list of 45 neighborhoods identified by the Ministry in charge of urban affairs that will benefit from this initiative to better combat school dropout rates, the socioeconomic difficulties of families, and the rise of violence among the youth.
For this unprecedented strengthening of specialized prevention and social mediation resources, the Ministry of Urban Affairs is allocating a national budget of 26 million euros from state funds over 2 years.
Local MP Cédric Roussel, who participated in the ministerial meeting, recalls that the QPV (Priority Urban Zones) of Nice have already benefited from several initiatives such as Educational Cities, “francs” employment opportunities, the Sesame initiative for youth employment in sports and entertainment, as well as the splitting of classes.
In a statement, he expressed his satisfaction with this progress: “Too often difficulties are concentrated in certain neighborhoods, and it is our responsibility as elected officials and local socio-economic actors to do everything possible to collectively restore the Republic and the empowerment of each individual.”
