The municipal showers installed in old Nice, managed by the Communal Center for Social Action, are essential for people in situations of great hardship, but also for passing visitors or elderly residents of the neighborhood whose homes are not equipped with bathrooms. This site represents an essential local solution for them.
As part of the work undertaken last spring by the City of Nice and its CCAS, the municipal showers on Jules Gilly Street have relocated to the alleyway of Halle-aux-Herbes in fully renovated premises.
This facility, open since the end of June, is equipped with five Italian-style showers, one of which is accessible for people with reduced mobility, two sanitary areas, and two conveniences, one of which is accessible for PRM.
Open to all, without conditions, they operate from Monday to Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. for men and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. for women, for a cost of 30 cents, which includes a towel and shower gel.
To meet basic needs, the Day Reception of the XVth Corps and the night reception Abbé Pierre also offer showers, towel and shower gel, as well as a laundry service for their populations in great hardship.
