Starting February 20, Nice will welcome new self-service bicycles. The operators Lime and Pony have stepped up to offer bicycles that finally meet the city’s requirements.
The blue bikes have been in service for 15 years now. It is time for the city of Nice to welcome new self-service bicycles that are finally adapted to the city’s topography. Nice also aims to be a city that promotes the development of an ambitious cycling policy. Therefore, given the terrain of the Nice area, it was essential to include electric bicycles for citizens’ use. But what will be available to the people of Nice starting Tuesday, February 20?

What does this novelty consist of?
The companies Lime and Pony are the players in this project to make Nice and its surroundings greener. There will be no less than 2000 bicycles available, of which 90% are electric. This new offer covers 12 municipalities with the presence of these bicycles in Nice, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Drap, La Trinité, Saint-André-de-la-Roche, Vence, Saint-Jeannet, Carros, and La Gaude.
All you need to do is visit one of the 250 stations and open your mobile app to rent a vehicle. Be careful, it is important to return your bicycle to one of these 250 stations under penalty of receiving financial sanctions. The bicycles are obviously made from recycled materials and are capped at 25 km/h. Overall, they are well-suited to getting around the city of Nice and its hills.
