Upcoming sessions at the CRIJ
The Regional Youth Information Center Côte d’Azur welcomes various organizations at its premises, located at 19 rue Gioffredo in Nice, which provide information in numerous fields.
The sessions for the month of February are as follows:
• Lawyer for minors:
o Tuesday 7 from 4 PM to 6 PM;
o Tuesday 21 from 4 PM to 6 PM.
• Army:
o Wednesday 1 from 10 AM to 12 PM
• Gendarmerie:
o Thursday 9 from 10 AM to 12 PM and from 2 PM to 4 PM;
o Wednesday 15 from 2 PM to 4 PM;
o Thursday 23 from 10 AM to 12 PM and from 2 PM to 4 PM
• Language Stays:
o EF: Wednesday 8 from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM;
o PIE: Wednesday 15 from 11 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2 PM to 5:30 PM;
o OISE: Tuesday 7 from 2 PM to 5:30 PM;
o SILC: Wednesday 1 and Wednesday 22 from 10 AM to 12 PM and from 2 PM to 5 PM;
o ECI: Thursday 2 from 1 PM to 5 PM.
Become Volunteers for Progress
Three volunteer missions in Egypt are organized for those under 31 years, for a duration of two years:
- at the Library of Alexandria: having skills for managing educational projects in scientific and technical culture aimed at youth;
- at the Faculty of Agriculture of Alexandria: having higher education with pedagogical and methodological skills, interpersonal and organizational abilities and competencies in communication and computing;

in a school in Alexandria: having skills in documentary management and experience in a school environment.
The selection for these 3 missions is based on Curriculum Vitae and a cover letter.
Get a travel scholarship
Are you between 16 and 20 years old?
Do you wish to carry out a travel project by yourself and experience about fifty countries around the world?
You can get a scholarship to finance your stay.
For this, you must submit, before March 15 next, a file including:
• a travel project for a minimum duration of one month,
• a specific study topic on the theme and in the country of your choice,
• a budget of income and expenses.

Educational support and skiing
A snow stay combined with school revisions is organized from February 18 to 25, 2006 in the heart of the Ubaye valley.
It is aimed at middle school and high school students who will be divided by level, in small groups.
On the schedule:
o Mathematics;
o English;
o French.
Become a Mail Carrier or Sorting Agent
An alternating training, to prepare in 1 year a CAP in Sorting – Routing – Distribution, is offered in the Alpes-Maritimes and Var.
The registration conditions are as follows:
o be between 18 and 26 years old;
o hold a Junior High School Diploma and/or a Vocational Certificate;
o have a B driver’s license;
o have at least 3 months of cumulative professional experience (internships, summer jobs, volunteer work).
The deadlines for submitting applications are set from February to September 2006.
Short story contest on the theme “Prisons”
A short story contest, open to all, is organized on the theme “Prisons.”
The story must include:
• a maximum of 2500 words typed,
• 1 title,
• few characters,
• 1 climactic event around which the narrative must be constructed.
Numerous Prizes will be awarded, ranging from €300 to €1600.
The deadline is set for March 15, 2006.
“A Festival is Too Short”
The 6th short film festival “A Festival is Too Short,” will take place from April 11 to 16 next in Nice.
If you want to be a member of the jury and attend all the screenings of films in competition, you just need to:
o be enrolled in a higher education program,
o write a film review of about one page,
o submit the application before February 10, 2006.
