After their superb qualification for the Coupe de France quarter-finals last Saturday, the Aiglonnes were back home to face TMV Handball.
2024 had indeed started well for Nice! By overcoming Plan-de-Cuques in the Cup, Clément Alcacer’s team put on a strong performance: “I love this group, I want to go as far as possible with these girls and this staff. We are fully focused on having a great second half of the season,” the coach enthusiastically declared at the beginning of the year.
Ninth in the championship, the Aiglonnes were slight favorites in this derby as they faced Toulon, who were 12th.
A One-Sided Second Half
After a solid performance by the Niçoises in the first half (11-14), the rest proved to be much more complicated. Facing a well-organized Toulon team, Nice let the match slip away during the second half, gradually but surely allowing their evening opponent to take a significant lead (25-34).
A match to forget, but OGCN Handball will have the opportunity to bounce back next Wednesday against… Plan-de-Cuques.
