An intergenerational role-playing game between high school students and seniors was organized at C.U.M. The objective is to put high school students in the shoes of parliamentary deputies.

This role-playing game took place yesterday morning at the Mediterranean University Center and lasted all day. The principle was to have 100 high school students and 50 seniors collaborate by putting them in the shoes of parliamentary deputies. Everything was done to immerse them in the world of the European Parliament. The dress code, the press present, and the hemicycle played a significant role in this immersion.

The seniors, motivated and dynamic, are on equal footing with the high school students. They come from senior homes with which the Europe Direct center works. The high school students appeared curious and excited about this new experience. This promises great debates when it comes to proposing ideas.

How does it work?

The theme of this workshop is disinformation. Each participant received a paper upon entry indicating which political party they belong to. They are divided according to their political group, just like in parliament, and everyone can propose law ideas, solutions to debate with other parties.

With the European elections taking place on June 9, the purpose of this role-playing game is to educate young people about the functioning of the European Parliament. Some are still too young to vote, but certainly, this experience will help them have a clearer understanding for the future.
