The French YouTuber with millions of followers will design a float for the 2024 edition of the Nice Carnival.
“As we had decided on the theme ‘pop culture’ for the 2024 Carnival, it seemed obvious to us to involve one of the most well-known content creators of his generation, perfectly embodying this theme and who happens to be… from Nice!” declares Christian Estrosi.
Cyprien, whose full name is Cyprien Iov, is not only one of the most iconic YouTubers of Generation Z, but over the years, he has demonstrated through various projects that he is a complete artist. A lover of drawing since childhood, he is notably the scriptwriter of the comic book Roger et ses humains.
For the next edition of the carnival, which will take place from February 17 to March 3, 2024, the city of Nice has given him carte blanche. In a Short video posted on YouTube on November 29, the creator announces the big news. “This carnival is important to me because I went there every year as a kid with my parents,” he reveals.
“The strength of our Carnival is that, in addition to being France’s first, it remains a traditional festival that resonates in the hearts of the people of Nice and inevitably reminds them of happy memories. We were particularly touched by Cyprien’s attachment to the Carnival,” shared the Mayor of Nice.
A float to honor mangas and Franco-Belgian comics
On the “Manga and Franco-Belgian comics” theme, the influencer will have to imagine one of the 17 large floats that will parade during the numerous carnival processions. For this native of Nice, it’s “something crazy.”
“It can move, light up, emit smoke. There can be cosplayers on it, dancers. I can hide little details related to my videos,” he shares in his announcement video. The structure can measure “up to 10 meters long, 10 meters high.”
The YouTuber with more than 14 million followers is calling on his community’s ideas to make this float a unique creation. To follow the progress of this adventure and see the first sketches, he invites everyone to stay tuned on his YouTube channel. Cyprien also announced that he will be present at the event.
