This Wednesday, AS Roma confirmed the arrival of Florent Ghisolfi, the current sporting director of Gym. The executive is leaving the Aiglons, eighteen months after his arrival on the Côte d’Azur. And he might not be the only departure from the Nice side.
It was strongly anticipated, and now it is confirmed. With the club since October 2022, Florent Ghisolfi is leaving OGC Nice. The sporting director is heading to Roma, where he has just signed a three-year contract. According to information from L’Équipe, the Frenchman has even signed his contract today with the Italian club.
At Gym, options for his replacement are beginning to emerge. The first rumors suggest the current sporting director of Stade Rennais, Florian Maurice, as the favorite for the position. The former OL executive is even the priority for the Nice leaders, still according to information from L’Équipe.
Not the only departure from the Nice side?
But the sports daily’s information doesn’t stop there regarding OGC Nice. In fact, L’Équipe announces an agreement between Gym and Ajax for the departure of Francesco Farioli. The Italian coach is not expected to experience a second season on the red and black bench.
OGC Nice is not expected to hold him back. The two clubs are said to have reached an agreement of around one million euros to release Francesco Farioli from his contract. The Italian would be heading to the Netherlands with at least two of his current assistants from Nice. Bruno Génésio, former coach of Rennes or Lyon, seems to be the favorite to succeed him. Especially since the French coach has already collaborated with Florian Maurice during his time in Brittany. Therefore, significant changes are expected for both the management and technical staff of Nice this summer.
