“Write a beautiful and new chapter at OGC Nice.” These are the words of Francesco Farioli, at the press conference on Monday, July 3rd, at the Allianz Riviera Stadium, during his official presentation. The coach spoke about his arrival at Allianz Riviera, alongside Jean Pierre Rivรจre, the club president. The new coach of the “Aiglons” seems very motivated and does not hide it.
“Create and believe in a common project” is the mantra he repeatedly emphasized. His goal is to rebuild a strong team to hopefully return it to its best level. As a reminder, the Gym finished ninth in Ligue 1 last season, missing out on all European competitions.
A last-minute arrival
Francesco Farioli will start his duties on Wednesday, July 5th. The season is restarting, and players will return to training. The Italian coach will therefore need to quickly adapt, especially to the French language.
“I will take French classes starting next week,” he declared. This is crucial for someone who places great importance on group cohesion and communication. He believes that “what happens on the field reflects what happens off it,” hence the desire to speak the same language as his players.
