Handball: the Aiglonnes are defeated in Brest

Latest News

The hurdle was visibly too high. Brave, Clément Alcacer’s team fell to an undefeated powerhouse in the championship so far.

For this 9th day of the championship, OGC Nice Handball faced Brest, second in the standings. With seven wins and no draws or losses, the Breton club boasts a solidity that few teams can claim this season. The Aiglonnes, on the other hand, are in 8th place (15 pts), alternating between good and bad performances week after week, but showing excellence in the French Cup.

So close yet so far

After a difficult start, Nice managed to find a way to surprise the Bretons below par at the end of the first half, coming back to within two points before finally trailing by four lengths. Despite a great performance from Tena Petika, Brest ended up dominating the second half against Nice’s team, which fell short despite fighting until the end. Final score (33-27).

The respite will be short-lived as the Aiglonnes will be back in action this Sunday at the Charles Ehrmann Sports Hall (5 PM) to host Nantes.
