Review of the 2023-2024 season of the Ligue Butagaz Energy for OGC Nice Handball, full of twists and turns.
We look back at the eventful 2023-2024 season for the Nice Eagles. The women from Nice experienced significant twists and turns throughout the season but nonetheless managed to reach the top of the Ligue Butagaz Energy championship.
At the beginning of the 2023-2024 Ligue Butagaz Energy, the Eagles started the season with a victory against St Amand Handball, with a score of 36-27. Subsequently, they followed with four defeats, much to the dismay of their supporters. In the remaining matchups, Nice alternated between good and not-so-good performances.
Gamble for the Nice Eagles
Suffering defeat after defeat at the start of the 2024 season, notably with their heavy defeat against Metz Handball where they lost 19-37. Not letting it get them down, the reds and blacks recovered. They managed to climb to the 9th position in the Ligue Butagaz Energy standings.
At the end of the 2024 season, OGC Nice handball regained their strength and won their last home match to the great delight of their supporters. They managed to reach the ninth position in the Ligue Butagaz Energy standings with a total of 44 points.
