Tenth day of the Ligue Magnus at the Jean Bouin ice rink in Nice. The Eagles faced the Angers Dukes.
A Challenging First Period for the Eagles
From the third minute of the game, the opposing team opened the scoring with a goal by Nick Moutrey. The Dukes continued their momentum by scoring a second goal in quick succession. Nick Moutrey secured a double. The Eagles’ team had a power play for two minutes but failed to capitalize on it. The Nice team tried their utmost to score, but no puck made it past Evan Cowley, the Angers goalkeeper. In the twelfth minute, a Duke found an opening in Nikita Bespalov’s goal and scored the third goal for the Angers team.
The Eagles Do Not Climb Back
As in the first period, the Eagles could not find a way to score. The Dukes took advantage again to score a fourth time with Anthony Bardaro in the 21st minute. Usually, Frantisek Stolc’s men manage to secure victory at home, as happened in the last four matches played at Jean Bouin. This time, the score was too overwhelming. In the third period, the same pattern occurred, with Nicolas Ritz scoring the fifth and final goal of the match.
