Adventure, solidarity, and surfing united at the top of the world, this is the extraordinary challenge that awaits Aurélien Delahaye and Ruben Chiajese, enthusiasts of E-foil and thrill-seeking.
The journey will include a trekking (continuous hike) through the majestic Himalaya mountains, combined with an E-foil ride on the splendid Gokyo Lake. Nepal is indeed famous for its mountains, including Mount Everest, which is currently the highest in the world. Accompanied by their E-foil, this electric surfboard that hovers above the water, they will embark in November 2023 in search of breathtaking images with Mount Everest in the background.
This project was born from a collaboration between E-foil riders from the E-foil academy and local organizations dedicated to education in the remote regions of Nepal. The main goal of this adventure is to showcase the natural beauty of this unique region, while also raising awareness and improving access to education for the children of the Nepalese mountains. In addition to their humanitarian commitment, the team will have the opportunity to meet local residents, explore Nepalese culture, and experience an enriching journey that goes far beyond a mere sports adventure.
One of a kind
It’s somewhat the adventure of a lifetime that Aurélien Delahaye and Ruben Chiajese, respectively a business leader and athlete filmmaker, are about to embark on. Accompanied by a team of enthusiasts, they will take the opportunity to create a documentary on their Nepalese adventure. The two riders are not on their first attempt, as one year earlier, they pursued the “somewhat crazy” dream of being the first surfers to ride E-foil under the northern lights in Norway…
They will depart from Paris on November 3, for an estimated arrival in Kathmandu two days later. The ascent to Gokyo Lake is estimated for November 14, the day before their return to Kathmandu (from the 15th to the 23rd). And as all good things must come to an end, our adventurous friends will return on November 24 to Nice.
