We review the 2023-2024 season of the Cavigal Nice Handball Men’s National 2, full of twists and turns.
We take a look back at the surprising 2023-2024 season of the Aiglons of Nice. The team experienced a season full of twists and turns. Nevertheless, they managed to reach the top of division 6 in the Men’s National 2 championship.
At the start of the 2023-2024 Men’s National 2 season, the Nice team began the 2023 season with a victory against Prades-Le-Lez Handball with a score of 33-21. For the rest of 2023, Cavigal continued to win match after match, much to the delight of the fans. They lost only two matches, against Saint Raphaรซl VHB in September with a score of 36-35, and against Frontignan Thau Handball with a draw of 27-27 in October. In the other matches, Nice won most of their games.
A Gamble for Nice
In this early 2024 season, Cavigal wins match after match and ranks first in division 6. Out of 22 matches played by Cavigal, they lost only five matches including two draws, achieving the best score in the sixth division with over 17 victories. Finally, the ultimate achievement for Nice! After winning the return match against Antibes (34-26) on April 27, Cavigal was promoted to National 1.ย
At the end of the 2024 season, Cavigal Nice Handball delighted their fans by winning their last home match (40-37) against Avignon Handball. They secured the first place in the division 6 standings with 58 points. In the player rankings of the season, Alexis Bon from Cavigal Nice is ranked third, having scored over 124 goals during the season.ย
