Marie Barsacq will be in Nice this Monday, March 31, on the occasion of the launch of the Olympic and Paralympic week. An event that promotes sport and inclusion among young people.

Marie Barsacq, Minister of Sports, Youth, and Community Life, will travel to Nice this Monday for the Olympic and Paralympic Week (SOP). This event, organized from March 31 to April 4, 2025, aims to encourage young people in sports practice and raise awareness of the values of sport.

As part of this day, Massรฉna High School will welcome 700 students from Nice and its surroundings. They will participate in sporting initiations and engage with high-level athletes.

Several personalities will be present alongside Marie Barsacq, including Renaud Muselier, President of the South Region, Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, and Marie-Amรฉlie Le Fur, President of the French Paralympic and Sports Committee. Astrid Guyart, Secretary-General of the CNOSF, and Arnaud Assoumani, Paralympic champion and sponsor of SOP 2025, will also be present.

A Spotlight on Nice

The Olympic and Paralympic Week is an annual event organized by the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) in collaboration with the French Paralympic and Sports Committee (CPSF) and the Ministry of National Education.

This year, more than 660,000 participants are expected in over 2,150 schools. The objective is to promote sports practice and raise young people’s awareness of the benefits of sport on physical and mental health. The event also emphasizes inclusion by encouraging the discovery of parasports disciplines.

Marie Barsacq, appointed minister on December 24, 2024, has extensive experience in the sports movement. After working at the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), she held positions at the French Football Federation before playing a key role in the organization of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.
