On this national holiday, the young eagles traveled to Lausanne for their first preparation match, the first of a series of five friendly matches.
With Todibo, Atal, Boudaoui, Laborde, and even Stengs (back from loan) in the starting 11 of Francesco Farioli, the Gym went with a classic 4-3-3 formation to face Lausanne-Sport.
Quickly falling behind, the Nice team collapsed by conceding three goals in the first twenty-five minutes of the match. Marcin Bulka was unable to thwart the attempts of Baldรฉ (14′), Custodio (18′), and Sene (25′).
Sofiane Diop reduces the score
With a sublime free kick in the 52nd minute, Sofiane Diop gave a glimmer of hope to the young eagles as he came on at the start of the second half. In the end, Nice never managed to regain footing and lost 3-1.
For their second preparation match, the Gym can next be seen on July 22 against Montpellier. The match will be played in Spain starting at 11 a.m.
