OGC Nice is boosting its confidence. After two consecutive victories against Troyes and Rennes, Didier Digard’s team wants to maintain their momentum in Strasbourg. In a consistently full Stade de la Meinau, the Aiglons have often faced strong resistance. In fact, the Nice team has claimed victory there only once since the Alsatian club returned to the top tier in 2018.
This is quite a challenge, especially since Strasbourg is fighting for survival, with just a 3-point lead over the first relegated team, Nantes. It’s clear that the task ahead is daunting for the red and blacks.
A Slightly Modified Squad
Although the Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey seems set to miss out after limping off against Rennes, Didier Digard was hopeful to see Sofiane Diop fit again this weekend. Absent since March 3 against Auxerre due to a knee sprain, the news is finally good. “Sofiane completed the whole week. Last week he already returned well, he worked hard. He had a really interesting week after such a long absence. We are happy, it adds depth to the squad,” said the Nice coach in a press conference.
In terms of absences, Nicolas Pepe (knee) and Youssouf Ndayishimiye (knee sprain) are still out.
