This afternoon, Nice transformed into an Olympic city to welcome the Games’ flame. Thousands of spectators, both locals and foreigners, flooded the streets to celebrate this preview of the Olympics.
This Tuesday, Nice adorned itself in its finest Olympic colors to celebrate the long-awaited arrival of the Olympic flame. The city was transformed, attracting thousands of spectators, whether they were from Nice or came from elsewhere, all gathered to share this unforgettable experience.
By mid-afternoon, the celebration was in full swing between Grand Arรฉnas and the Quai des Etats-Unis. The streets and the Promenade des Anglais were lively with numerous activities reminiscent of the Olympic Games spirit. The joyful and colorful crowd eagerly awaited the passage of the flame.
Sports were, of course, on the agenda. Live demonstrations of various Olympic disciplines gave the audience a taste of the upcoming competitions. Participatory workshops were also organized, allowing kids and adults alike to try out different sports.
Course of the Olympic Flame’s Passage in Nice
During its passage in Nice, the Olympic flame properly arrived on the Promenade des Anglais, near Phลnix Park. Accompanied by music and preceded by its convoy, several floats, partners of the 2024 Olympics, set the seaside on fire.
It was Annaรฏck Ferrari who arrived for the initial relay, handing the precious Olympic flame to artisan baker รric Kayser. After the exchange between the two locals from Nice, รric Kayser began his journey up the Promenade des Anglais to Magnan, where he then passed the flame to alpine skier Nastasia Noens.
The final carrier, Stephan Diagana, a local athlete, lit the symbolic cauldron at the port of Nice amid cheers and applause from the crowd.
