The Eagles rebound at home against the Raptors.

What an undecided encounter it was! After a painful defeat against Amiens last Sunday, Nice was eager to bounce back today.

Only three points ahead of the bottom-ranked Briançon, Gap is having a rather complicated season. Currently 12th, the team led by Éric Blais—let’s recall he was voted the best coach of the Synerglace Ligue Magnus for the 2022-2023 season—remains stagnant.

Just one position ahead in the standings, the Eagles perform better but remain far too inconsistent to hope for a top-table finish. Now eliminated from the Coupe de France, their recent defeat against the Gothiques (8-2) drove the point home… However, as this team shows us week after week, they know how to bounce back.

Suspense until the third period

Trailing on the scoreboard after 10 minutes of play, Nice managed to find the resources to equalize just before the break, thanks to Yevgeni Nikiforov! Yet again, both teams couldn’t shake each other off in the following set, bringing us logically to 2-2 with a decisive contribution from Bryan Sautereau (14′).

And then… as they were trailing at the start of the third period, the Eagles said enough. Jesper Larinmaa, Luka Kalan, and the inevitable Bryan Sautereau turned the game around to the great delight of the spectators. Nice won 5-3, Nice breathes, Nice can now travel comfortably to Grenoble

See you on Friday at 8:15 PM.
