What an undecided encounter it was! After a painful defeat against Amiens last Sunday, Nice was eager to bounce back today.
Only three points ahead of the bottom-ranked Briançon, Gap is having a rather complicated season. Currently 12th, the team led by Éric Blais—let’s recall he was voted the best coach of the Synerglace Ligue Magnus for the 2022-2023 season—remains stagnant.
Just one position ahead in the standings, the Eagles perform better but remain far too inconsistent to hope for a top-table finish. And then… as they were trailing at the start of the third period, the Eagles said enough. Jesper Larinmaa, Luka Kalan, and the inevitable Bryan Sautereau turned the game around to the great delight of the spectators. Nice won 5-3, Nice breathes, Nice can now travel comfortably to Grenoble.
